Rooted in tradition
focused on you

Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years as a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is increasingly recognized in modern healthcare for its role in managing pain, improving movement, reducing stress, and supporting overall well-being.

Since beginning practice in Ottawa in 2013, I’ve combined the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a modern understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics. This allows me to look at your health from complementary perspectives and tailor each treatment to your individual needs.

Acupuncture may be combined with fire cupping, Tui Na (Chinese therapeutic massage), infrared heat therapy, and practical exercises or lifestyle recommendations when appropriate. I also take the time to help you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and what you can do between treatments to support your recovery.

As a registrant of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario, I am committed to providing safe, evidence-informed, patient-centered care. My goal is to demystify this ancient approach to well-being so that more people can understand it, feel comfortable with it, and experience its benefits.

My Services

Acupressure & Tuina

Therapeutic massage rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that helps ease tight muscles, improve circulation, and encourage relaxation.

Acupuncture

Fine, sterile needles are used to gently stimulate specific points throughout the body to help regulate the nervous system, reduce pain, encourage healing, and restore balance from the inside out.

Fire Cupping

Using suction, fire cupping helps lift and decompress soft tissue, release fascia, improve circulation and promote recovery.

TDP Heat Therapy

A therapeutic infrared heat treatment that delivers comfortable, penetrating warmth to promote circulation, and relax muscle tension. Often used as a clean, smoke-free alternative to traditional moxibustion

Floating Acupuncture (FSN)

A specialized acupuncture technique that targets tight fascia adhesions just beneath the skin to release muscle tension and immediate pain relief. Often used for musculoskeletal conditions with immediate results.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

A no-tox gentle treatment that supports healthy skin by promoting circulation, encouraging collagen production and reducing muscle tension in the face. Often combined with body acupuncture to support overall wellness from the inside out.

FAQs

Does acupuncture hurt?

1

Most people are surprised by how comfortable acupuncture is. The needles are extremely fine—much thinner than those used for injections. You may feel a brief sensation as a needle is inserted, followed by feelings of warmth, heaviness, tingling, or relaxation.

How many treatments will I need?

2

Every person responds differently. Acute conditions may improve in just a few visits, while chronic concerns often benefit from a series of treatments. We'll discuss realistic expectations and adjust your treatment plan as you progress.

Is acupuncture covered by insurance? Do I need a
doctor’s referral?

3

Many extended health benefit plans include coverage for acupuncture and in the vast majority of cases, no referral is required. You can book directly with a Registered Acupuncturist. However, we do recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm the details of your individual coverage.

Is acupuncture safe?

4

When performed by a Registered Acupuncturist using sterile, single-use needles, acupuncture is considered a very safe treatment. Your safety and comfort are always a priority.

What makes your approach different?

5

Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, every treatment begins with a thorough assessment through the lens of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and modern anatomy, biomechanics, and physiology. My goal is not just to help relieve your symptoms, but also to help you understand why they developed and how to support long-term recovery.

Where is your practice located?

6

My practice is at Healthy Choice located at 1827 Woodward Drive, Unit 202; just off Highway 417 and Maitland Ave.
